Business Tips September 2011

I hope you all had a good Labor Day weekend.
Here in the Atlanta area we had tornado's in some areas and it rained all day.
Several Labor Day events had to be postponed or cancelled.
Fortunately for us the tornado's came close but did not hit our immediate vicinity.
There was a lot of damage in some areas northwest of Atlanta.

But today the weather is much cooler in Metro Atlanta. temperatures in the low 70's.
It has been in the 90's all summer.

But now that Labor Day is over, we all need to take a good look at what we're doing this Fall to
improve our business.

First, take a look at your website and your blog. Is it up to date and attractive?
Have you posted all your special events for at least the next two months so your customers can plan to attend?
Have you posted what new merchandise you bought at CHA?
Have you updated your newsletter and sent it to your customer database?
Do you send your newsletter to your customer database every month with CURRENT information about your store?

This challenging economy is no time to sit back and wait for something good to happen.
It won't happen unless you do something to make it happen.
You all know what has been successful for you in the past.
Doing things like:
Celebrity Crops.
Celebrity classes.
I know you can't always get Tim Holtz to your store, but some vendors have well known teachers that can do a special event for you. And these "Special Events" get attention.

There are a lot of ideas that you know will work.
Be sure to include them in your Fall schedule.

Be proactive and aggressive with your promotions this Fall.

Good things will happen, but you have to MAKE THEM HAPPEN.

Sandy
