CHA Show JUly 2012

Good morning

I know a lot of independent scrapbook retailers have decided not to attend the CHA Shows.

I personally recommend you attend at least one show a year to keep up with what's going on in the industry.

But you might find that difficult.

It's important, though, that you prepare for the show just the same as if you were attending.

The posting for June( just below) has my " How to Work a Show" article. These points are important whether you're going to the show or not.

Let me just reiterate a few of the most important points to consider in your preparation if you're not attending the CHA Show.

1.. Determine how much you can spend on show merchandise.  Remember that you can take advantage of a lot of show specials, so you want  to allocate enough money to "Show" purchases.
Even if you have to cut back later in the year.

2.. Determine what categories in your business are doing well. You want to allocate enough funds for those businesses.
The same is true of your vendors. Determine what vendors  are doing most of your business and be sure to
order sufficient quantities from those vendors.

3..BE SURE to have an appointment set with your Rep for right after the Show. Or even before the Show. Some vendors offer " Pre Show" specials you can take advantage of.
But if you don't have an appointment with your Rep right after the show you can miss out on show specials that will still be available after the show,
Set up your appointment now, and make it as soon after the show as possible.

Take a look at my June posting " How to Work a Show". It will give you more tips on getting the most out of the CHA Show. Whether you attend or not.
