I make it a practice to repeat some previously published "Business Tips" because I feel there are some things that are worth repeating.
I'm going to repeat some tips that I got last year at the Collins Group event in Orlando at the Kizer and Bender Seminar.
First Rich and Georganne talked about a couple of stores they visited a few years before that were not Scrapbook Stores. One was a fish bait store and the other a fish market. They had heard that these were fabulous stores to shop in and they wanted to see for themselves.
The biggest reason they brought up these two stores at the seminar was the enthusiasm both store owners brought to their business. The owners enthusiasm made the stores fun places to shop.Shopping in these stores was not just a shopping trip, it was a shopping experience.
These stores were all about enthusiasm and excitement. They made the point that if you're not enthusiastic about your business how do you expect your customers to be enthusiastic about shopping at your store.
Every retail store needs to make shopping in their store a "Shopping Experience".
Some of the key points Rich and Georganne made were these.
1. Make your store exciting to shop in
2.Show enthusiasm for your business
3.Develop new thinking
4. Excellent customer service is critical
5. Ask yourself. What ONE thing can I do to improve my business.
6. Do the things your customers won't get in the "big box" stores.
7. Expect perfection from yourself and your employees. Your customer expects more from you than they get at the "big box" stores
8. Make your customers think they are the most important person in the world to you. THEY ARE.
Next month will be some practical ideas for holiday selling.
